This is an original watercolour by Yorkshire artist Alan Stuttle RCA. Castle Howard near York was the location for the 1981 ITV serial of Evelyn Waugh's Brideshead Revisited. This is a beautiful and atmospheric watercolour showing Castle Howard from the lake under an overcast sky, with a swathe of poppies in the foreground. The frame measures 76 x 60 cms, the visible painting measures 56 x 37 cms. This painting was bought new approx 20 years ago in York in The Alan Shuttle Gallery, which has since relocated to Scarborough. Alan Shuttle's son Richard is a successful artist in his own right. Alan Shuttle is now identifed with mediumship and Psychic Art and oganises workshops.
